RETURN TO THE BLUE RIDGE  - JUNE 2010

Seven Corvettes from Indy and two Corvettes from southern Indiana met up in Alcoa, TN, for the first stop of our trip.  Had a great evening and left the next morning for Deals Gap to see the Tree of Shame and visit the gift shop at the end of the Tail of the Dragon.  The Dragon was closed due to a rock slide and so we drove the Moonshiner Run (Hwy 28) which was superb!!!!  Included in our drive was the Cherohala Skyway also known as The Mile-High Legend with 50 miles of unspoiled  beautiful scenery,  views, waterfalls, mountain lakes, rivers and virgin forests  We continued on through Cherokee, NC, trekked up the 120 feet to Mingo Falls,  and spent our third night in Gatlinburg, TN.   Along the way we enjoyed good company,  great meals, and acknowledging other Vettes and motorcycles on the roads.  Here are some great pix of our trip... starting with the whole crew in one bed and ending with the group in a giant rocking chair!!!!

Many thanks to Mike & Sandy Medenwald for setting up this fun fun trip.

THE BLUE RIDGE ODYSSEY TRIP - JUNE 2008

Nine Corvettes arrived in Alcoa, TN for our first stop on the way.  Up and on our way early next morning to conquer The Tail Of The Dragon, and that we did - in the rain too!!!  What a ride, 11 miles of road with 318 curves packed in for some great testing of our cars and our drivers skills.  The remainder of our trip was some wonderful sightseeing of what this Great USA has to offer.   We traversed the Blue Ridge Parkway with ohhs and ahhhs all along the route.  We visited Magee Valley, Asheville, and Cherokee, North Carolina as well as Gatlinburg, TN.  Several of the group visited The Biltmore Estate while we were in Asheville to see how great life was in 1895 (if you had the money).

Many thanks to Mike Cope for coming up with yet another great trip.

Check out some of the great photos from our trip.

We have arrived!!!
